Local Missions
In November, 2006, First Baptist Church adopted a Purpose/Mission Statement proclaiming our desire "TO JOIN GOD IN HIS WORK OF BRINGING PEOPLE INTO A LIFE-CHANGING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST". We strongly believe in the importance of fulfilling that mission, first at home, then abroad. Acts 1:8 states, "…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." (NASB) We recognize the fact that Broomfield, Colorado is our Jerusalem. Our work begins here!
Within our ability to do so, we actively help persons with financial or other needs through our Deacons' Benevolence Fund. We also take advantage of eveery opportunity to inroduce hurting people to the Lord Jesus Christ. We offer counsel and direction, and often refer individuals to places where they can get long-term or more comprehensive assistance. We provide Thanksgiving Baskets for those in need during that season. We also collect gifts and other needed items for children and adults around Christmas time. In addition, we work closely with Broomfield FISH and the Broomfield Community Foundation, which offer various assistance for those in need. Periodically, we work with the Denver Rescue Mission to help provide needed items.
We provide monthly support to the Mile High baptist Association, which helps Baptist churches in the Denver Metro Area realize their visions. We also provide monetary support for our local Awana missionary.
We hace a team of people at FBC whose task is to work on evangelistic and missions-type projects. This begins with our community, and fans out from there. On an annual basis, FBC reaches out to our local community through block parties, door-to-door ditribution of information, involvment in the annual Broomfield Days parade, our Round-Up Sunday in September, an October Harvest Festival, and opening our church to everyone for a variety of special events, guest speakers, choral cantatas, and such. We need your help assisting us to reach Broomfield with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
