First Baptist believes that the work which begins locally in our Broomfield community should fan out across the state of Colorado, our nation, and into the whole world. FBC is able to touch lives far and wide through various efforts. The Nicy Murphy offering, to which we contribute each September, helps churches here in Colorado accomplish various tasks and ministry projects they would be unable to do on their own. Each year around Easter we collect the Annie Armstrong offering for North American Missions, which assists churches in the U.S and Canada. In December each year we receive the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, which serves as a key support for those at work as ambassadors for Christ all around the world. In addition to these special offerings, FBC contributes 10.5% of all its undesignated receipts to the Cooperative Program, which supports missionaries here in Colorado, across North America and to the furthest reaches of our world.
Our church is also a direct supporter of Mission Aviation Fellowship (M.A.F.) and Tom & Diana Mason. We are designated prayer partners with other missionaries serving in the Pacific Rim region. Members of our church family have been involved in periodic mission trips here in North America, as well as to Europe, Asia, Central America and Africa.
Additionally, we participate each year in Operation Christmas Child by the Samaritan’s Purse organization, and the Hope Totes program by the Denver Rescue Mission. These are primarily mission projects for our Awana kids, though we encourage all members to participate.
Even though separated by distance, we realize the basic needs of all mankind are the same – food, shelter, clothing, of course, but most of all a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ!
