Awana
Awana is the focal point of the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Church. Awana is an energetic Bible Teaching ministry that applies God's Word to the lives of children, from age three through sixth grade. Through handbook time, Scripture memory, games and special guests & activities, children are introduced to the Good News of Jesus' love, and discipled to grow in their relationship with Him. Many special events highlight the Awana year, such as the Awana Grand Prix and the popular Pizza Night.
Awana is held on Wednesday nights during the school year, meeting at 6:25 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Children's Church
Our Children's Church Program is designed to prepare our kids for life-long service and commitment to the local church. Quality Bible Study is presented on the child's level, along with teaching on how to pray, to give, and to behave in church, as well as singing and fun. It is also desinged to give the parents and visitors of First Baptist Church an opportunity to focus on worship with minimal distraction
Our children are the future of our church, and it is very important to us to give them adequate training to become the leaders of tomorrow.
VBS
Each summer we hold a Vacation Bible School, a week simiilar to a compressed form of Awana, with games, music, snacks and, most important, learning about God. We typically use the Lifeway VBS program, which for 2009 has the theme "Boomerang Express," which is "a train ride across the Land Down Under." Please see our VBS page for more info.
